Tagging as structured optimism

September 11, 2025
GuidesFrameworks

As of September 2025, I only have three pieces of writing on my personal site. It may seem strange that I have more than 7 tags in my tagging system. I am optistic about content growth! I see tags as an enabler and foundation for discoverability.

My tag framework

With this in mind, I’ve created some tags for my writing and written a short guide about what to expect:

  • Guides - practical writing that explains how to do a specific task
  • Stories - examples, case studies, and lessons learned from personal and professional experiences
  • Insights - analysis that has led to 2 + 2 being more than 4
  • Frameworks - models and structured approaches
  • Leadership - methods (and stories) for aligning and engaging people
  • Learning - links and materials to support personal and professional growth
  • Tools - productivity methods, software, and references to get the job done
  • Innovation - thoughts about experiments, entrepreneurship, and emerging technologies
  • Philosophy - values, mission, lifestyle, I guess

Findability

My tagging systems is designed to surface content across job role:

  • Business - “Leadership” and “Insights”
  • Product Management - “Frameworks”, “Leadership”, “Guides”
  • Architecture - “Frameworks”, “Insights”,
  • Engineering - “Learning”, “Tools”, “Guides”

I think everyone should read “Stories” and “Innovation”

AI is a collaborator, not the primary voice on this site

I am an optimistic advocate of the power of AI to improve our world. AI was used as a collaborator in building and coding this site. AI was used as an assistant in brainstorming structuring and ideating the content that is found here.

But I would like to be totally clear my writing is my own. It is in my voice. It is using my words. My writing is not AI generated.
